Meat processing machinery company K+G Wetter has launched a cutter-mixer that can process up to 190kg of meat and is easy to clean.
The E 130mm/G 160 machine is a cut above its predecessor. The German-made machine boosts a wider-than-usual opening to its mixing chamber, allowing users to easily reach into the machine to clean it or top up the meat supply, meaning less downtime.
Machine operators also no longer need to bend over the edge of the hopper to gain access to the mixer shaft and feeder worm.
“What is special about this cutter is that the front part of the cover can now be easily opened. This creates new options for making processing faster, easier and, above all, more efficient,” says K+G Wetter CEO Volker Lauber.
The new equipment will be showcased at IFFA, a trade show in Frankfurt for the meat processing industry that starts on 7 May.
“Meat processing machinery is one of the growth drivers of the food machinery industry, and demand continues to be strong,” said Klaus Schroter, chairman of the VDMA Meat Processing Machinery Technology Group, at an IFFA press conference.
Schroter confirmed that around 960 exhibitors from 50 countries are expected to attend IFFA this year. And with 61% of those visitors coming from outside the country, there is hope that the €13.5bn ($15.2bn) meat processing industry in Germany can use the trade show to oil the wheels of international investment.
